Like many peer support groups around the country, without the support of our local mental health authority, our program would not enjoy many of the luxuries that we have, such as a free-standing building, large passenger vans, and salaries for our Executive Director and Assistant. Currently, 100% of our financial foundation is generously provided in a yearly renewable grant city and government money administered through Mental Health and Mental Retardation of Tarrant County, our local mental health authority. The CEO, Dr.McDermott, the Chiefs, and the Board of Trustees honor us with their trust each year by allowing us complete autonomy to plan, implement, and direct the program of the Center. Of course, our goal as a non-profit is to be self-sustaining with fundraisers, grants, and individual donors. |
