Every year our group is fortunate to take a "camping" trip to Eagle Mountain Lake at the encampment owned and operated by our neighbor, Broadway Baptist Church. For over 10 years, our group has used this weekend retreat as a time to get away from the pressures of daily life and enjoy being together in a peaceful, relaxing environment. This year, we were surprised and delighted at all of the changes that had been made to the lodge facility where we stay. The extended patio area with outdoor seating was especially wonderful. Thanks Broadway Baptist! The first wave of campers left Paradise Center on Friday, March 9, 2007. By 5:00, all fort-five (45!!) of us were at the encampment and ready to begin with what we look forward to every year: food, fun, fishing, and friends! By the time we returned to Paradise Center on Sunday at 1:00, we had eaten alot of barbecue, burgers, hot dogs and s'mores. We had also played alot of volleyball, basketball, group games, monopoly, dominoes, and uno. And we fished, hiked, and sat in the Spring sunshine. We've made some new friends, renewed old friendships, and gotten closer as a group. Take a look at some of the pictures. And if you're not a member yet, these pictures will make you want to join!
